Help of others is necessary for the growth of anyone. No one in this world is independent being. No one can grow independently. Everyone has silent slogan ringing in their minds: “Build people up, don’t break them down.” Building people up starts in our own minds (building ourselves up), then it extends to our family and workplace. From there it extends to societies, then to the whole states, to the whole nation, and then to the international relations.
Break people, down is the idea behind some people. Through verbal abuse to those who are below, physical abuse of overwork and allowing living in poor conditions; these all break people.
In this present world, our focus should be on building people. People are not simply physical being with flesh and blood. They are not like mere instruments to be used. Anyone has potentials waiting to build up. When empowered and invited into the opportunities, people come alive with potential. When you build people up you encourage them to do the same with others also.
Look around your family, your office, your community, your country and find out whether some need a building up from your side. In the Bible, it is written in 1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing”.
“Neglect is a passive form of abuse in which a person who is responsible to provide cares for a victim who is unable to care for self, but fails to provide adequate care.” It is a failure to provide necessary care, assistance, guidanceor attention that causes, the person physical, mental or emotional harm that would lead to severe damage. Neglect also may include the failure to provide sufficient supervision, nourishment, or medical care, or the failure to fulfill other needs for which the victim is helpless to provide for them. Neglect cause in a person many long-term side effects such as physical injuries, low self-esteem, attention disorders, violent behaviour, and can even cause death. The same can be the effect on the adults and the aged.
There are different types of neglect and they all have consequences. They affect they physical life or mental life of a person. Neglect can affect the body physically by affecting a person’s development, which can lead to chronic medical problems. Neglected children or adults can have physical problems or severe sickness that goes untreated, or infections, untidy or other signs of lack of care. Not being treated for health problems can lead to chronic disorders when a person gets older.
Not only is neglect associated with physical problems; it also has an effect on a person mentally which leads to behavioural problems. Not only is behavior affected, but also the way a person looks at himself, which can lead to low self-esteem and the feeling of not being wanted. Neglect is more severe in younger children when it comes to psychological consequences. Parental detachment can harm the child's development. Too little parental availability can result in difficulties in problem solving, coping with stressful situations and social relationships. Studies of neglected person show heighten levels of depression and hopelessness, and higher incidents of suicide attempts.
We have legal or social responsibility to care for and support children and adults who are unable to meet their needs themselves. "Neglect" occurs when the other person fails to live up to the standard of others. Neglect has two forms.
Neglect includes denying the person any of the things that are essential to life, such as food, water, medications, medical treatment, therapy, nursing services, therapeutic and equipment aids, clothing, and rights. The following includes these as some examples of neglect failing to provide:
So, what is our responsibility? Our responsibility is to care the neglected people and build them up for the benefit of the society.
We could help an infant, which is neglected, a child who is neglected, an adult who is neglected, and an aged who is neglected. Many evangelists are neglected. They have to live with their little income or without any income. So, be a part of this Endeavour. Please go through this website, give your suggestions, and help to fulfill our vision.
